Validations
Whether it be an online study which requires email verification and evaluation or a straight phone or mall study, we can assist you in making sure that the study was completed in a proper way.
We follow the standards set by the BMRA's IQCS (Interviewing Quality Control Scheme) which include:
- All validation are undertaken by people adequately and appropriately trained and experienced to undertake this role.
- Each interviewer/recruiter's work is to be validated. Research Technologies has a systematic and representative method for selecting and rotating which individual's work is validated when.
- Validation should start within two weeks of the end of fieldwork and be completed within six weeks of the date interviews were conducted (eight weeks in the case of group discussions).
- Research Technologies documents the number of validation checks attempted and achieved, and keeps a summary by results by interviewer/recruiter.
- If serious problems or discrepancies are found during validation, we suggest validating all of that individual's work before their work is used. Significant problems or discrepancies are reported back to the client so they can appraise the interviewer/recruiter and their supervisor.
- Validation can be conducted by monitoring (using remote listening-in equipment), by listening to taped interviews and/or by recontacting respondents post-interview. We can utilize any of these ways assuming the client has the capability.
- The Minimum Standards list a number of questions the validation must seek to verify as a minimum, as and when appropriate. We use the screener to determine which questions to verify.
- When monitoring / validating work being conducted in languages other than English, this is undertaken by a validator with sufficient understanding of the language concerned.
